Hi folks,

Vector API is an OpenJDK feature helping optimize the vector computation at runtime. This feature has gone through three incubations.  JEP 417, Vector API (Third Incubator) has been integrated into jdk18, with full SVE and masking support. We believe Vector API can be a good way for our partners to write high performance SIMD code without relying on the auto-vectorizer.

Arm OpenJDK team is now working together with OpenJDK community on the fourth incubator: https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8280173 (draft). Any inputs are welcome! Especially the ideas based on your service scenarios on Arm platforms. You may reply this email thread or directly provide your comments into JEP above.
